Inbound Documents
What is it?
Inbound Document API is a gateway that allows Providers' PMS systems to submit ACC forms and document directly to ACC along with metadata that can enable automatic processing and uploading to EOS which decreases the processing time for decisions related to client support.
What are the benefits?
Our newly updated Inbound Documents API will be used to receive inbound documents from Providers, with the benefit of being directly integrated into a Practice Management System. Important to note that this is an alternative solution to other electronic methods of submitting documents to ACC.
Other benefits include:
- Documents can be accepted up to a size of 20MB, instead of 3MB.
- There will be less manual handling of documents, leading to quicker processing and decision making.
Dates of importance
We have recently released Version 2.1 of this API. In early 2024, we are set to release another version which aims to reduce the chance of submission issues and further supports the automatic upload of ICP related documents.
What is the status/current status?
Version 2.1 went live on 29/11/23, which allows for the following:

Minor extension to the number of documents able to be submitted to ACC via the Inbound Documents API, primarily to support Integrated Care Pathway Musculoskeletal go live in early 2024.

Additional validations added restricting the use of special characters within metadata, improving ACCs ability to process the submission.
